Principal and Founder


Mary Scheibel, principal and founder of Trefoil Group, brings more than 25 years of strategic marketing communications experience to her clients. She is known for her ability to address complex issues and for designing brand-based communications programs that are strategic, actionable and results-driven.

Throughout her career, Mary has led communications programs for business-to-business firms serving a broad range of industries locally, nationally and globally. She leads a team of professionals that have a keen understanding of the challenges that confront mid-market business-to-business companies and a working knowledge of how to deploy marketing programs that balance return with budget. Trefoil Group’s clients have included professional service providers, financial institutions and an extensive list of manufacturers.

An accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Mary currently serves on the Board of Directors and is a past-president of the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of the PRSA. She is the 2011-2013 chair of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce’s (MMAC) Council of Small Business Executives (COSBE) and serves on the MMAC’s board of directors. She is also on the Board of Directors of Second Chance Partners, a member of the board of TEMPO Milwaukee and is active in several other local organizations. Mary was the 2011 recipient of the BizTimes Regional Spirit Award, which recognized her contributions to the community throughout her professional career.

Mary began her career in public relations at the Sara Lee Corporation in Chicago and was in shareholder communications for Wisconsin Energy Corporation prior to beginning her career as a public relations consultant. An ongoing contributor to several local business and trade publications, Mary speaks regularly on the topic of strategic marketing and public relations to various groups, including the Waukesha County Business Alliance, the Racine Area Manufacturers of Commerce, the MMAC, the Chicago area President’s Forum, the Plastics News Executive Forum and more.

Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Truman State University.
