Seven Things To Do In Milwaukee This Summer

Posted on: August 3rd, 2017 by: trefoil

Summer is flying by, but there’s still plenty of time to have fun in the sun! Check out the top seven things Trefoil Group recommends doing in Milwaukee before summer is gone.

  1. Catch a Brewers’ Game

Always a summer classic, a day with the Brew Crew is no token mention. The team’s playing great baseball this year, in second place in the NL Central, just 2.5 games back of the Chicago Cubs and maintaining their lead over St. Louis. Get swept up in the pennant race and support the cause all season long. Don’t forget to pick a favorite in the sausage races!

  1. Hike Seven Bridges Trail in Grant Park

Milwaukee has a lot of great parks, but Seven Bridges is particularly scenic. Nestled up on the shore of Lake Michigan, this natural wonder features a slew of streams running through a dense and beautiful forest. It’s one of the best spots to hike near the city and definitely worth the trip.

  1. Attend the Wisconsin State Fair

Wisconsin State Fair is the perfect pick-me-up during the dog days of August. Certain to have the most unique, delicious, and wacky foods around, it is known as one of the best state fairs in the country. Oh, and on your way out, don’t forget to grab a cream puff…or six.

  1. Check out the Milwaukee County Zoo

The zoo is always a great time — but check out for numerous family-friendly events taking place yet this summer. Enjoy kids’ nights, food trucks, sleepovers, live music, and of course, Zoo A-la-Carte. Pro Tip: Stop and see the newest additions— three 10-month old tiger cubs.

  1. Play Volleyball at Bradford Beach

The beach is always a cool option when seeking a day of summer fun. Bradford Beach happens to have a particularly enticing beach volleyball scene with games taking place at all hours of the day and evening. Serving as a stop on the pro tour in years past, hitting up Bradford Beach has become a longstanding Milwaukee summer tradition.

  1. Find a Favorite Custard Spot

You won’t want to eat custard during the cold days of the Wisconsin winter, right? Make up for those lost days now by trying out Milwaukee’s best custard options while the days are long. From Leon’s and Kopp’s to Oscar’s and Gillie’s, you’re sure to find a flavor that strikes your fancy this summer!

  1. Go to a Festival

Sigh…Summerfest is done, but Maier Festival Park isn’t! Irish Fest, Mexican Fiesta and Indian Summer festivals are coming soon. Enjoy great food, beer, and music down by the lakefront all the way into September.
