Manufacturers Must Work on Storytelling to Attract Crucial Talent

Mary Scheibel to highlight issue at Penn State Erie’s Innovation and Emerging Plastics Technologies Conference

MILWAUKEE (June 17, 2014) – Many manufacturers have the right attributes to attract the top-tier skilled workforce they need to succeed. But they often aren’t telling these stories to their greatest advantage.

That’s the message that Mary Scheibel, Principal and Founder of Trefoil Group, will share during her presentation on Thursday, June 19, at the Innovation and Emerging Plastics Technologies Conference at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.

The presentation, titled “When Supply & Demand Don’t Align: Winning the Talent Game,” will focus on what manufacturers can do to overcome the widening skills gap. In addition to exploring digital marketing, public relations and social media as effective tools in talent acquisition, Scheibel will offer tips on how to become a good storyteller to build reputation and ultimately help companies win the talent game.

“Many manufacturers today have the right blend of technology and innovation, but they don’t always leverage these assets,” said Scheibel. “Inside every manufacturer is the potential to use these qualities to be a thought leader and a magnet for talent. Manufacturers must develop a game plan to put the pieces of their story together.”
